yet another reason why people annoy me....

i'm sure you've all heard about this.
but as you all know, i don't watch the
tube so i'm not exactly quick with
current information...
i get most of my information via the internet
and radio.

needless to say, i just read about this
and i feel it is deserved to say:

i hate people

so there's this common law about importing
exotic fish... and some jackasses think
its ok to get them and make a few bucks.
the morons that buy them don't know shit
about the exotic fish...
but because they are morons, buy them anyway
(i guess cuz they think they are gonna
be famous or something).

after a bit, they get tired of the fish or
some other reason, and decide to release
the fish into the local pond, lake, stream
whatever.

such is the case with the new snakehead fish scare.

holy jesus!

people are all in a tizzy about it, aren't they?

supposedly this fish was like that scenario
i just described.
scientists fear its introduction into our
waterways will have drastic effects on our
ecosystem...
because the fish is aggressive and 'voracious'
(an adjective i've seen several times when
reading up on it... thought i'd better to)
scientists fear that people will be attacked
and our food fish will have a dramatic
decrease.

in short, for a few hundred bucks, we have
just fucked up our food chain.

they say that the snakehead fish (in florida)
eats mostly crayfish and other smaller food fish.

that kinda makes me mad cuz i really dig crayfish.
and if these suckers go around eating everything
the crayfish population will be ganked.
not including the other NATURAL inhabitants
to those waterways that already feed on
the crayfish.

they also say that these suckers grow to
around 4 feet.
4 FEET, PEOPLE!!!

so the scientists and game commissions are
frantically trying to destroy the snakeheads
in the areas that they were discovered,
in addition to figuring out
WHO THE HELL BROUGHT EM HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

meanwhile, china (where the fish originates)
is over there saying,
"oh, its no problem. they just rapidly
reproduce thousands of eggs and eat anything
in sight... don't worry. we've lived with it,
you can too!!"

yeah well.....
